When it comes to location in Los Angeles it does not get better then Doheny Estate. Nested above the sunset strip, it is not one of those neighborhood dangerously hanging on a dusty hill. Once you reach Doheny Estate, you feel like you've arrived in heaven!
During the summer I ended up in one of those mansions, in fact I ended up in what is likely to become my future home! Of course the asking price is a little over budget for me but as soon as I will have collected the $17,995,000 missing on my bank account right now, I will make a full price offer on it!
It may take me a couple of life times but it is also good to have long-therm-other-lives goals right !?
But let's go back to the subject and this architectural masterpiece designed by Spanish genius Marc Canadell. This house is the most amazing house I have ever been to. 9000 square feet of luxurious fabulousness (yes it is that good!) 5 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, top of the line everything, outdoor movie theater ...
The former house was bought in 2006 for $2,725,000, and everything was rebuilt, re-landscape from scratches to be put back on the market in April 2009 at the price we know. If you are interested you should know that it will cost you $34,258 of property taxes every year for that house, but I guess when you have that much money $34,258 does not matter at this point.
One of the cool feature of the house is the open kitchen, the sliding doors will make you feel like you are cooking outside, or will make you feel like your personal chef is cooking outside.
Overhall this house has a very European feel, it combines the best of both world and being from Europe I like to be surrounded with familiar things.
The outdoor, pool, lounge area is probably one of the best I have seen. The view is stunning and that is what you expect when you have to drive all the way up to the hill risking to leave your Lamborghin's bumpers at every corner (Los Angeles has the worst streets in the world)
This house is not what I would call child safe, but when you are that rich this means you probably made the smart decisions in your life, which involves not having kids ... just kidding ;-)
Just imagine you and your friends having a drink by the pool at sunset time, some cool lounge jazzy music, before you turn on the giant movie screen projector on the house to watch your favorite movie. Life must be nice when you are rich ...
